A broken-down prison cell, stuffed with junk. TALAYA, KOLYMA, RUSSIA: HAUNTING pictures show the last of the terrifying Siberian gulags where at least eleven thousand victims of Stalinist terror were shot dead with three hundred survivors when the camp closed as recently as 2005. Chilling pictures of an abandoned prison camp from the 1930?s Stalinist-era, left to ruin since 2005, show a blanket of snow covering every open surface of the prison for miles. Other pictures show the gritty state of the prison interiors and toilets that over 300 inmates were made to live in. The eerie Talaya prison is located in the village of Talaya, in Kolyma, Russia and is still associated with the "Kolyma camps", where the agents of the bloody regime ruthlessly send prisoners. It is estimated a realistic total of at least 130,000 prisoners died under Stalin in the Kolyma region, in the far East of Russia during the 1930?s, 40?s and 50?s. The haunting pictures were taken by urbex photographer Lana Slator (38) from Moscow, Russia. mediadrumimages/@lanasator ***EXCLUSIVE*** Egy elhagyott cella az gulag egyik egykori börtönében / Fotó: Northfoto
